ABMTs : Housing Innovation Expo 2026
On Tuesday 30th June, the CEO attended the Housing Innovation Expo & Forum 2026 held at KANU Grounds in Nanyuki, Laikipia County, courtesy of Habitat for Humanity Kenya.
The event brought together government representatives, development partners, innovators, training institutions, housing practitioners, beneficiaries of Habitat for Humanity programmes and private sector stakeholders to showcase practical solutions aimed at improving access to adequate, affordable and climate-resilient housing.
The Expo also provided a platform for demonstrating alternative building technologies and sustainable construction materials (as featured below) that have the potential to transform housing delivery, particularly for low-income and marginalized communities.
The forum also featured discussions on strengthening partnerships, promoting skills development among youth and artisans, and creating an enabling environment for the wider adoption of innovative housing technologies.
Addressing the participants, the Deputy Governor of Laikipia County reaffirmed the county’s co-operation, highlighting the impact that accessible building technologies have had in improving the lives of communities over the past seven years.
Scaling and decent affordable housing will depend on innovation, collaboration, supportive policies, investment in local skills and increased adoption of alternative building technologies that are both environmentally friendly and accessible to ordinary households.
